Creating a template with CPABuild

Creating and using a CPABuild template or content locker can seem pretty confusing for some people at first but after you have done it once, you will see how simple it really is. Below I have included some basic details to help get you started.

Creating a Template

To create a template (aka a landing page) in CPABuild, you need to navigate to 'Templates' in the left menu on the CPABuild dashboard. Now click on Build/Modify Template. Select the base template that you would like to build from and customize it to your liking. Once you are happy with it, hit save. Now you have two options to choose from for how you want to make use of the template you just created. 

a) Press the 'Build Link' button on that same page and choose a desktop and mobile locker to use with the template you just created. Now press 'Get URL'. The link you are given is unique to you and is now ready to promote right away. You can replace the domain in the link provided with any of the domains listed on our mirrors page, which can be found by navigating to Links -> Mirrors in the left menu on the CPABuild dashboard.

b) Rather than using one of our domains, you can actually integrate the template in to your website and use your own domain name by using our deployment package. You can find this by going to Templates -> Deploy on website in the left menu on the CPABuild dashboard. At the bottom of that page you will find a link to a help page which will guide you through how to install the package, including a video tutorial.


Creating a Content Locker

Very similar to creating a template. To create a content locker in CPABuild, you need to navigate to 'Content Lockers' in the left menu on the CPABuild dashboard. Now click on Build/Modify Locker. Select the base template that you would like to build from and customize it to your liking. Once you are happy with it, hit save. Now you have two options to choose from for how you want to make use of the template you just created.

a) If you want to use the content locker with a CPABuild template, you just simply need to follow the steps above under 'Creating A Template'.

b) If you want to use the content locker on your landing page that was created outside of CPABuild then you need to navigate to Content Lockers -> Code for website in the left menu on the CPABuild dashboard. Select your locker(s) and press 'Generate Code'. Now you will see that you have three options to choose from; Javascript, iFrame or URL. Select the one you want to use and follow the instructions listed there to implement your content locker.


Making a Template or Content Locker Public
As you have probably already seen by now, there is an option when creating a template or locker to 'Make Public'. By making a template/locker public, you are making it available for all other CPABuild publishers to use. In return, you will get a 5% commission on any leads generated with your template and 1% on leads generated with your locker. You will notice that templates/lockers built with certain base templates cannot be made public. This is because they just simply are not customizable enough to be worthwhile. Before making a template/locker public you MUST make sure that it is both high quality and unique. You can do a search on the Templates & Stats or Lockers & Stats page to make sure that someone hasn't already made a similar looking template or locker for that niche. Multiple low quality or duplicate public template/locker submissions will result in a warning, continue to do so and we will have no choice but to block you from making templates/lockers public.


Using a Public Template or Content Locker
Making use of the thousands of available templates and lockers could not be any easier. Simply navigate to Templates -> Templates & Stats or Content Lockers -> Lockers & Stats, depending of course on whether you are looking for a template or locker. Now scroll to the bottom of that page 'All Custom Templates' or 'All Content Lockers'. Click the magnifying glass icon and change the drop down box to 'Name'. Now search for whatever it is that you are looking for (Instagram, youtube, clash of clans etc). Work through the list, hitting the preview button until you find one that you would like to use. Now just press the 'Use' button and select your options in the popup box and press 'Get URL'.
